Academic Advising Center

Until you join a department as an undergraduate major, the Academic Advising Center is your primary academic home in Trinity College.  We are a network of advisors -- academic advisors, academic deans, global advisors, peer advisors, and staff -- who help you discover and understand the multiple curricular and co-curricular opportunities at Duke and help acculturate you to Duke's intellectual community.

We meet with you as often as you like, but at least once a semester.  We review course choices with you, talk to you about your research ideas, and point you in directions you haven't yet considered.  Our office has specialized prehealth advising and prebusiness advising.  We help you understand the policies and requirements that structure undergraduate education in Trinity College.  We monitor your academic progress and, if you are having academic difficulty, help you identify the support you need to succeed.

The Academic Advising Center building also houses the Focus Program, Duke's signature first-year seminar program; the undergraduate writing tutors of the Writing Studio, and the Academic Resource Center, including the Academic Skills Instructional Program (ASIP), Peer Tutoring, and the Program for Students with Disabilities.

The Academic Advising Center is located on Duke's East Campus.  Come visit!
