Study Abroad
Nearly half of Duke’s undergraduates spend at least a semester or a summer in another country, taking part in an array of programs offered or approved by the Office of Study Abroad.
Study Abroad courses provide students the opportunity to engage more fully with their majors, connect with specific areas of interest, and develop a deeper understanding of other histories, cultures, languages, and current affairs.
All undergraduates are encouraged to consider studying abroad. Academic advisers of those students interested in careers in medicine, science, and engineering help them devise ways to have a fruitful study abroad experience and still fulfill the requirements of further education. The number of students from the Pratt School of Engineering studying abroad has nearly doubled in the past several years.
