Baldwin Scholars Program

The Alice M. Baldwin Scholars Program was created to inspire and support undergraduate women in the classroom, in campus leadership roles, and in their future professions. Eighteen first-year women from the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences and the Pratt School of Engineering are accepted each fall for the four-year program.

The Baldwin Scholars participate in two academic seminars, a sophomore residential experience on West Campus, and an internship in the field of their choice. In addition, they network with upperclass mentors, faculty, and Duke alumnae through community service projects, lectures, and informal dinner discussions.

The Scholars represent a wide range of backgrounds and academic and extracurricular interests. They are encouraged to pursue study abroad opportunities, athletics, and sorority membership.

Baldwin Scholars may declare any major, complete premedical or other graduate school requirements, or participate in the Focus Program. The program does not provide a tuition scholarship but all program costs, including the internship, are covered.
