WELCOME TRANSFER STUDENTS!
On behalf of faculty, staff and students, we extend our warmest welcome and greeting. We hope that Duke becomes a special place for you and that our university will offer all that you hope for.
If you are a newly accepted transfer student for 2009, please contact Dean Donna Kostyu by phone or e-mail. She will work with you on transferring your courses to Duke and she can advise you on fall registration.
IMPORTANT DATES, SUMMER 2009
June: Receive your NET ID and Password. OIT (Office of Information Technology) will mail these to your home address. You will need them to access Duke e-mail and to register for classes.
June: Email your course descriptions to Dean Kostyu (ddkk@duke.edu) as soon as possible. She will need these to evaluate your courses for transfer to Duke.
June: Arrange for your previous university to send an official final transcript to Dean Kostyu (Academic Advising Center, Box 90697, Duke University, Durham NC 27708). A final transcript is required for approval of your transfer credits.
July: Register for classes before July 7. You may still add and drop classes after this, but course offerings will be more limited because incoming first-year students register on July 7, 8, 9.
August: Move-in day is the 18th; begin orientation.
August: First day of classes is Aug 24.
September: Last day to drop/add fall courses is Sept 4.
