Chapter 4 of the Faculty Handbook contains the policy on sabbaticals and leaves of absence. Duke recognizes several kinds of supported and unsupported leave. All leaves are contingent on departmental teaching and programmatic needs and must be endorsed by both the Chair and the Dean.
