Out of Cycle Funding Requests
Every year requests for unbudgeted appropriations arrive in the Deans' offices. With the exception of issues such as proposal deadlines requiring matching funds and emergency teaching replacement, which are extremely time sensitive, these will not be considered individually as they arrive. Effective September 1, 2007, these proposals will be collected by the Office of Finance and Administration and kept on file in order to be decided later, at a regularly scheduled time and in the context of what may be several competing proposals. Out-of-cycle proposals will be considered in two batches annually, on October 15 and March 15. No decisions will be made on these "irregular" funding requests at times other than these group considerations. Of course, it is hoped that the majority of budget requests will arise in the normal annual budgetary cycle.
