The Theology of CS Lewis in The Chronicles of Narnia

The course aims to give students an in-depth encounter with the works of CS Lewis through the lenses of The Chronicles of Narnia and Mere Christianity. The essential structure will be to supplement our reading of the Chronicles by supplying insight into Lewis’s thought and context. Class sections will consist of 1) brief presentations on topics such as allegory as a mode of thought and the historical and intellectual contexts for Lewis’s writing, and 2) discussion.
