Service Learning Program

Duke's Service Learning Program, part of the Duke Program in Education, supports the university's commitment to service learning, an approach to teaching and learning that links academic coursework with service experiences in the community.

The Service Learning Program provides instructional support and logistical assistance to departments, programs, and individual faculty members seeking to integrate service-learning into their academic objectives.

The program works with the student group LEAPS (Learning through Experience, Action, Partnership, and Service), which has shaped the Duke service-learning movement since its earliest days, and partners with many vibrant community agencies and other Duke civic engagement initiatives.
