Class of 2024
Majors in German Studies and Biology, with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology; Minor in Chemistry
My name is Grace, and I am a senior studying Biology and German. I plan to apply to MD/PhD programs following my graduation. Outside of class, I am an undergraduate research assistant in the Horner Lab, where I study dengue and Zika viruses. I am also involved in Duke Club Swim and the Duke Children’s Hospital Ambassadors Program, and I am a dorm raiser for the Duke Puppy Kindergarten. I have also had the opportunity to work in a lab in Germany as a DAAD-RISE intern and I studied abroad through the Duke in Berlin program last fall.
Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke was Berlin: Architecture, Art, and the City, 1871 to the Present. I took this class in Berlin and it was such a unique learning experience because most of our classes took place throughout the city, as walking tours and in various museums and art galleries. I learned so much about the history of Berlin and had a ton of fun taking this class.
