Double Major in Neuroscience and Music
I am a junior from Charlotte, NC, double majoring in neuroscience and music. I am interested in how music and language are processed in the brain, specifically music's connection to memory and emotion. I have had the wonderful opportunity to explore my research interests as a Huang Fellow under Dr. Edna Andrews, and am participating in the 2022 Summer Neuroscience Program, working with Dr. Tobias Overath. I also love performing with Duke's Opera Theater, Chorale, and Chamber Choir. In the future, I plan to become a professor, hoping to implement evidence of lifelong musicianship’s ability to delay the symptoms of dementia to advocate for expanded music education.
