Class of 2026
Major in Cultural Anthropology; Minor in Environmental Science & Policy
I'm a junior from Stafford, Virginia, majoring in Cultural Anthropology and minoring in Environmental Science & Policy. I has a strong interest in environmental equity work and environmental law, so I hope to one day make an impact on the lives of minority communities across the globe. I'm President of the SPIRE fellows, a group which aims to support minority communities in STEM. On any given day you can find me mentoring middle school students with TGC, tutoring elementary schoolers with America Reads America Counts, in the DUU office where I serve as the VP of Recurring events, or working with the Duke’s Sustainability Office as a Green Devil. Last summer, I had the joy of attending the Duke In Australia program, where I spent six weeks visiting different territories and studying biodiversity. This summer, I interned at a non-profit on the coast of North Carolina! Outside of academics, I love to travel, spend time reading in the gardens, and play tennis with friends.
Favorite Class: My favorite class was Sound and the Environment with Professor Maria. This course explored the intersections of humans and the environment and dove into how sound can serve as an indicator for environmental health My final project for this course was one of the first times I got to hands on look at environmental equity and its impacts on communities.
