Psychology Major and Education Minor at Duke; Conflict Management Minor at UNC-CH (as a Robertson Scholar, able to pursue minor at UNC-CH)

My name is Mackenzie Warren, and I am honored to be a Class of 2024 Robertson Scholar and Baldwin Scholar at Duke, as growing my commitment to leadership and service is very important to me. Since the beginning of my academic career in high school, I've been energized by my passion to uplift economically-disadvantaged and underserved students through sharing educational resources and advice with them; this passion of mine has carried over into my life as a Duke student. For example, in addition to working for several nonprofits in Durham—such as the Emily K. Center and Students to Scholars—that focus on helping students from historically marginalized communities take advantage of their education and get into top colleges/universities, I also currently run my own nonprofit called Mack's School Prep (MSP), which I founded back in 2019 during my Gap Year after high school. Via MSP, I leverage my website www.mackschoolprep.com and my YouTube Channel (Mack’s School Prep TV) to help meet the needs of low-income and under-resourced high schoolers; in other words, I offer students a plethora of free informational videos and other tools so that they can better overcome the challenges impeding their academic success and educational goals. Because I enjoy making a difference in others' lives, I intend to utilize my trusted position as a Trinity Ambassador to be a helpful resource to current and prospective Duke students.
