Class of 2024
Majors in English and Risk, Data, and Financial Engineering; Minor in Computer Science

I’m Maddie Rubin and I’m a senior from New York. I came to Duke thinking I was an engineer, but quickly pivoted to English after allowing myself to have a little fun. I’m mostly interested in the cultural intersections of comedy, technology, and gender and sexuality, as they manifest in 20th-century film, music, and literature. I’m currently writing a thesis about automation in the works of Andy Warhol, Antonin Artaud, and Samuel Beckett. I am also an A.B. Duke Scholar and an undergraduate fellow in the Digital Art History and Visual Culture Research Lab.

Favorite Class: I found God in Taylor Black’s class on Bob Dylan. See for yourself.
