Major in Visual and Media Studies with a Cinematic Arts concentration; Minors in English and Creative Writing
Hi, I’m Madysen Rufener, a Visual and Media Studies major at Duke with a passion for writing. I love writing of all forms, including creative non-fiction, screenwriting, or fictional prose. I read it all, but my favorite genres to write are gothic horror and science fiction. Outside of my studies, I have lived in Durham for over ten years now, so one of my favorite pastimes is exploring the many restaurants downtown.
Favorite Class: My favorite class was an adaptation screenwriting class I took from Jody McAuliffe. The class was a perfect blend of novel-/prose-writing and screenwriting, and Professor McAuliffe was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject.
