Introduction to Refugee Healthcare

In the last several years, the spotlight on refugees has intensified due to the current political climate. This course serves as a way for students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the various challenges refugees face with a focus on obstacles to healthcare. We will look at differences in refugee healthcare in their countries of origin and in the U.S, cultural barriers they face in accessing healthcare in the U.S, and the unique health challenges prominent in the refugee community.
