Co-Director of the SPIRE fellows program and academic dean for the Wellness Initiative.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish from the University of San Diego and soon after, completed my Master’s Degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Washington State University. I maintain an active research lab and life walk examining and interrogating Middle Eastern/North African identity development in diaspora, MENA womxns’ issues, student of color and marginalized student advancement in higher education/STEM disciplines and systemic improvement of life chances for marginalized populations.
I have a passion for travel, food, both useful and useless trivia, music of all genres and deep belly laughs. I very much look forward to cultivating a relationship with my deanies during their formative years of life at Duke!
