Class of 2024
Major in Chemistry with concentration in Chemical Biology; Minor in Japanese Language

I am a third-year transfer student in the Trinity College, initially attending Emory University during my first year of college where I found my passion for Chemistry in my introductory chemistry class. Since transferring to Duke, I have become specifically interested in organic chemistry and drug discovery research (I plan to pursue a Ph.D. after graduating), and I am currently doing independent research in organic synthesis under the Franz Lab in the Chemistry Department. I am also studying Japanese language and hope to eventually live abroad to continue studying chemistry and conduct research. Outside of my studies, I sing as a Soprano in the Duke Chorale, serve as an executive board member for the Japanese Culture Club, and work with fellow Chemistry majors under Duke’s newly established chapter of the American Chemical Society to serve Duke’s community of students interested in chemistry.
