Awkward Stages: Plays About Growing Up Gay

Clum, professor emeritus of theater studies, teamed with a colleague at UCLA to select five plays that have received powerful productions across North America and that offer insightful perspectives on gay adolescence. In addition to highlighting LGBT teen issues, the plays in Awkward Stages: Plays About Growing Up Gay showcase the vitality and variety of contemporary North American drama. Theatre as a mirror for society has been effective; by selecting these plays the editors represent ethnic, racial, and geographical diversity as well as diversity of theme and style.
