Class of 2027
Major in Physics, Minor in Music

I'm from Vernon Hills, IL, pursuing a BS in Physics. Additionally, I maintain a keen interest in the arts, serving as the vice president of the Duke Symphony Orchestra, playing classical double bass, and working for Duke Arts. Through the Sanford School of Public Policy, I'm a fellow with the Hart Leadership Program, where I study cultural policy. In my free time, I enjoy playing euchre and bridge and constructing and solving crossword puzzles, including as the crossword editor for The Chronicle, and I can regularly be found appreciating the Duke Gardens.

Favorite Class: Tough choice! I particularly enjoyed Physics 264, "Optics and Modern Physics," with Dr. Huanqian Loh because it offers exposure to a variety of consequential topics in the field, including special relativity and quantum phenomena. The lab with Dr. Yuriy Bomze was a highlight because of the thorough and engaging teaching. Honorable mentions: Music 245, "Musical Shakespeare," with Prof. Harry Davidson for opening my eyes to great literature and compositions and for providing the impetus for wonderful research; to the courses of the FOCUS cluster "The American Experiences" with Dr. Jenny Wood-Crowley and Dr. Ginny Ramirez-DelToro for fantastic discussions in my first semester at Duke.
