Class of 2027
Major in Computer Science, Minor in Economics, Certificate in Philosophy, Politics, & Economics (PPE)
I'm Benita Besa, studying CS & Econ, and the PPE certificate at Duke. I am part of DTech, Alpha Kappa Psi, Duke Gymnastics, and Duke Real Estate Club. I am interested in technology, investing, and entrepreneurship. My work experience includes interning twice at Amazon as a Software Engineer Intern, being an undergraduate teaching assistant for CS 101 and CS 265, and previously volunteering as a Computer Science Instructor with CS Sidekicks.
Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke so far has been ECON 362: Discovering Game Theory: Social Complexity and Strategic Interdependence, because it turned strategy into something I use every day. We mapped incentives and best responses, then applied the same logic to real problems—coordination, negotiations, resource allocation, and market design. It’s made me better at predicting behavior and choosing plans that hold up.
