Class of 2026
Majors in International Comparative Studies and Psychology; Certificate in Child Policy Research

Hi! My name is Ellie Armstrong (she/her), and I am from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. This fall, I am starting my ICS honors thesis on strategies for fostering belonging in early childhood education for Latin American immigrant and first-generation families in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I’m also a Costanzo Teaching Fellow for Psychology 101, a Cohort Executive Officer for the Penny Pilgrim George Women’s Leadership Initiative, and a research assistant at the Sanford Center for Child and Family Policy. My internship experiences in refugee resettlement, child policy, and educational equity inform my passion for social justice advocacy. I love to bake, collect vinyl records, cheer on Duke basketball, and meet new people!

Favorite Class: My favorite class has been LATAMER 341S Perspectives on the Amazon. Professor Gustavo led insightful discussions and brought passion to every lecture.
