Major in Public Policy; Minor in Education; Certificate in Child Policy Research 

Hey! I’m Jiae, and I’m a sophomore majoring in public policy with a minor in education and a certificate in child policy research. As an international student who graduated high school in Uzbekistan, I’m interested in advancing equitable and inclusive global education through advocacy and policy. On campus, I’m involved with Bull City Scholars, Duke Tour Guide, research in the Trinity Curriculum, and the Student Advisory Board for the Office of Undergraduate Education. Outside of classes, I enjoy traveling, reading books, trying local restaurants, and baking.

Favorite Class: Educational Psychology! It really taught me that students can shape their learning and have autonomy in it. I also learned a lot about how students get motivated to study and why education is important.
