Students in the Class of 2027 participated in the Halfway There Celebration on Abele Quad after declaring their majors. Sponsored by Sophomore Spark, a signature program through QuadEx, Halfway There is an annual event to recognize the accomplishments of the current sophomore class and celebrate the halfway point of their Duke undergraduate experience.
Trinity College of Arts & Sciences is home to 35 departments and programs across arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Approximately 80% of Duke’s undergraduate student body calls Trinity its intellectual home.
A key component of Duke’s strong undergraduate experience is an unswerving commitment to a broad and deep liberal arts education. Majors provide in-depth exposure to a discipline and its methods, enabling students to develop a measurable degree of expertise in that area.
“Trinity College of Arts & Sciences is committed to providing an educational experience that supports each student’s intellectual and personal growth,” said Dean of Trinity Undergraduate Education Deborah Reisinger.
Trinity has recently adopted a new curriculum that will reshape the academic experience of its undergraduate students beginning in Fall 2025.
"In a practical sense, the curriculum is the courses and experiences you need to graduate, including a set of broad requirements as well as ones specific to your major," said Reisinger.
