Class of 2025
Majors in Global Health and Cultural Anthropology

As a Global Health and Cultural Anthropology major on the pre-med track, my passion lies in affecting change in the US healthcare space through both an individual and systemic lens that prioritizes participants' voices and experiences. Research wise, I'm heavily involved in the Reproductive Justice Post Roe v Wade Bass Connections team, where we are building an oral history archive on abortion care, and am a Huang Fellow involved in the Margolis Health Policy Center. I'm also president of Duke Remote Area Medical, a student group dedicated to supporting rural healthcare, and a lead optician volunteer at free medical clinics. In my free time, I love being a part of Duke Raas, a traditional Indian folk dancing team, and crocheting cute clothes.

Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke was Medical Anthropology taught by Dr. Harris Solomon. It opened my eyes to the parts of western bio-medicine that are assumed to be inherent to its functioning, whether it be medicalization and the constructed legitimacy it provides to patient experiences, or the entrenched racist, capitalist forces on substance abuse care, obstetrics care, etc.
