Major in Art History and Visual Arts; Minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies; Certificate in Information Sciences and Studies
My name is Brooke Hira and I am a junior from Mission Viejo, CA! I am majoring in Art History and Visual Arts, with a minor in Medieval/Renaissance Studies and a certificate in Information Sciences. Through Duke, I have done work for multiple AAHVS research teams–such as a Bass Connections team on Duke and Durham– and worked in the Multimedia Project Studio (the one with all the VRs)! I like to work on my own creative projects in my free time, so you might catch me on campus at one of the studios woodworking, painting, or sculpting!
Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke has definitely been Medieval Castles of Europe with Professor Triplett. I loved that this class combined historical knowledge and technical skills such as 3D modeling, as technology continues to converge with the arts. I've been able to apply both sides of this class to my work in and outside of Duke, and I could not recommend this class (or any other class by Professor Triplett enough)!
