Critically examine the research, theories, and practices of elementary school math and science instruction for culturally and academically diverse populations in grades kindergarten through six. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of the teacher in shaping decisions about curriculum, instruction, and evaluation. Field experiences will provide students opportunities for applying research-based methodologies in the public school classroom.
