Class of 2025
Major in Mathematics; Minors in Political Science and Computer Science
I work in climate organizing and energy justice policy, but I'm a mathematics major because (as a friend once said) "it's good for the soul," and I strongly believe that 1) everyone is a "math person" and 2) math is an art. As far as math goes, I did a Math+ project in combinatorial algebraic geometry, studied abroad at Budapest Semesters in Mathematics, serve on the Math department DEI committee, have done an independent study on lattice cryptography, and conducted research on extremal planar graphs. I have also participated in the Visions of Freedom FOCUS, DukeEngage in DC: Science Policy, the Humans and Autonomy Lab, and Visualizing Cities Lab, as well as interned at a couple tech startups and the DoD. I am on the exec team of Duke Climate Coalition and Duke Undergraduate Quantum Information Society, but my favorite role is being a Project Director for Project Earth!
Favorite Class: American Grand Strategy Seminar with Prof. Feaver and Prof. Miles was probably the most engaging class I've taken at Duke. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I learned a lot from our weekly discussions.
