Duke's commencement ceremony was held on Sunday, May 11, ushering in the Class of 2025 to the Duke alumni family. Over the course of three days, Trinity celebrated the graduates at over 35 ceremonies across the arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences as part of Duke's commencement weekend. Duke awarded degrees to approximately 1,788 undergraduates and 5,111 graduate and professional students who finished their course work in September or December 2024 or this spring, with 1,449 of those going to undergraduates in Trinity.
Take a peek at some of the memories from the weekend.
From large, formal ceremonies in Cameron Indoor Stadium to intimate gatherings amongst family and friends, Trinity graduates had a busy weekend celebrating their accomplishments.
At graduation, we mostly talk about how your lives have changed. But you’ve changed ours as well. You’ve challenged us to be better, work harder, and learn more to give you an experience that we hope was transformative. And for that, we are grateful.
-Gary G. Bennett, Dean of Trinity College, speaking to Global Health graduates
The moment we have all been waiting for. From the big accomplishments to the tiny moments of joy, this is your time to relish all it takes to be Duke Blue Devil.
The graduates aren't the only ones excited. As we celebrate the graduating class, we also thank the faculty, staff, family and friends who have supported them through their journeys.
Graduates may have been caught in the rain during Sunday's commencement service, but that didn't stop their smiles.
