Class of 2025
Majors in Theater Studies and Psychology; Minor in Korean

Hi, I’m Sydney (she/her)! In my free time, I enjoy drawing, crocheting and knitting, and playing video games. On campus, I’m involved in KAjok (Duke’s Korean American group), Duke Helping Hands for Alzheimer’s and Other Neurological Disorders, and Duke Asian American Theater. Some of my favorite experiences at Duke have been Duke in London Arts, Duke Engage in Korea, and being in Theater Studies’ production of Twelfth Night. I love the Theater Studies department at Duke and I’m happy to answer any questions!

Favorite Class: It’s hard to pick from of all the amazing classes I’ve taken, but I’d say I had the most fun in Dr. Ryan Donovan’s course Musical Theater Workshop: Performance. We would meet each week to practice assigned songs from various eras and genres, learning from each other’s performances. I had always loved singing but had never felt confident in my ability, but through the encouragement and guidance of my peers and Dr. Donovan I gained confidence and new skills. I love that all of my theater studies courses have been smaller, giving me the chance to really get to know my peers and professors!
