Majors in History and International Comparative Studies; Minor in Asian American Diaspora Studies
Lian is a David M. Rubenstein scholar and Mellon Mays Undergraduate fellow involved on campus via organizations like the Asian Students Association, Duke LIFE, Asian American Studies Working Group, and the History Union. Lian enjoys ice skating, reading and writing, and cooking with friends. Academically, Lian is interested in Critical Refugee Studies, oral history, and Ethnic Studies.
Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke is Theorizing Liberation with Dr. Calvin Cheung-Miaw because it challenged me to reimagine what liberation can be for different communities, specifically what liberation means today and what it meant to different people historically.
